Philosopher’s Stone offers a protocol rooted in the sequence Dr. Rosita Arvigo learned from Don Elijio Ponte whose teaching lineage traces directly back through the Maya civilization. This traditional knowledge is combined with intuitive energy work and modern orthopedic and neurological techniques. The result is a bodywork session that is gentle, supportive and highly effective. By aligning your physical and energetic structure, this process helps the bodymind reach its most optimal state of function and being, improving “the five systems of flow” - circulation, lymph, nervous conduction, hormones, and energy - and centering the uterus (if you have one).
Session Flow

Your first session begins with a thorough intake. We’ll discuss your period (again, if you have one), bowel movements, sexual function, emotional holding and family history to key into the patterns that are underlying your pain. For anyone who might feel a little nervous about sharing such intimate details with a stranger, breathe! It's very conversational and much less intimidating than it might sound.
Next you will learn the self massage. I teach you how to massage your own stomach, elevating this work from a massage to a practice that supports your life. This ritual is a major key to the profound effectiveness of Maya Abdominal Therapy.
Finally, you get massaged!
Think about how often you touch your stomach. It's usually when you are sick or in pain, right? The times another person might touch your stomach are even fewer. This makes the abdomen a really sensitive space for bodywork. Raise your hand if you think having your belly rubbed by a stranger would be weird. Raise your hand if you do not like having your stomach touched. You are not alone! These reactions are part of why you learn the self care first. It gives you the exact knowledge of where we'll be working and how, allowing us to build a sense of trust and comfort.
Where We Work
Because we are focusing on overlooked and underappreciated aspects of your anatomy, we will typically address only your core. We will work from the pubic bone to the xiphoid process (the pointy bone that makes up the bottom of your sternum) on the front of the body, and target your low back, glutes, and hamstrings with some work down the spine and at the tip of your coccyx on the back. As sessions progress and you solidify your self massage habits, we will expand the sessions to include other areas involved in the compensation patterns affecting your pelvic bowl and integrate other techniques. Maya Abdominal Therapy treatment plans tend to last between 3 to 10 sessions. However, every body is different. Your situation may require more, and in some cases, you'll need less!
Initial sessions are 2 hours, $200
Follow up sessions last between 60 and 75 minutes, $160

Personal Notes
I have been performing this work for clients and on myself for over 8 years. It is beautiful to witness how clients grow and expand when they allow this work to sink into their bones and shift their energy. But the reason I still believe so strongly in this practice is because I have experienced first hand how it continues to elevate and support you throughout life.
This bodywork, combined with some intensive Somatic Shadow Therapy, created the space for me to heal my chronic low back pain and digestive issues as well as release sexual trauma symptoms (including pain with sex and flashbacks) that I had struggled with for years.
Now, though I am no longer in pain (physical or emotional), performing the self massage still brings me massive benefits. With it, I start my day grounded. Stress does not have the chance to root in my body and hijack my mood or choices. The self care techniques are a moving meditation that inspires peace, calm and all the good tingles. It reminds and remembers me to my needs, my boundaries and my values.
This ritual reconnects me to all of the “yes” that I have cultivated in my life, orienting
Freedom . Love . Yay . Yum
as foundational. Primary. Not feelings that are nice to sneak in between obligations and responsibilities. Not as desired things that I earn by getting through drudgery. As the quintessential matrix through which I live my embodied experience.
Maya Abdominal Therapy is a powerful tool that most people first come to to resolve pain. What you will find as you immerse yourself in this practice is that this simple self care evolves into a practical expression of self respect and self love.
I look forward to walking with you as you allow this work to transform you!
